The Great Betrayal

“Thomas tasted of my water, he knows of the deeper knowledge. He is trying to withhold from you the knowledge that I can give. Try the water Tanis,” Teeleh hissed Tanis’s name, and licked his thin lips. The huge black bat pushed the canteen of water towards Tanis the first born, urging him to take it.
“Don’t listen to him, he is lying to you!” Thomas screamed from across the bridge.
Tanis stopped and thought about this, but it all made sense to him now. The reason why Thomas had dreams of another world was because he had tasted of Teeleh’s water, and now he held the knowledge of the Old Earth. Thomas dare think that he could horde this knowledge to himself, No the firstborn Tanis would also taste of the waters of Tanis. Tanis looked up at this beautiful bat, with blue wings that were neatly tucked in. This beautiful beast that could sing better than anything he had ever heard had surely come from Elyon. The rumors of the Black beast were greatly exaggerated, they were not as frightful and cruel, and they loved like Elyon.
Tanis with his, mind made up reached up his hand to take the water.
“No! Tanis no,” Thomas got up off his feet, and tried to run towards Tanis, but the white Roush Michal stopped him.
“Michal let me go! He is going to ruin everything,” Thomas screamed between a sob.
“Elyon knows what he is doing, Tanis has chosen,” Michal said with a voice so full of Sorrow, it broke Thomas’s heart.
Thomas looked in the direction of Tanis, and saw him grab the canteen of water from Teeleh’s claws. Tanis met his eyes and said,
“Now we will be brothers,” Tanis lifted the Canteen to his lips and took a long sip of Teeleh’s water.
“Tanis! Oh Tanis what have you done” Thomas screamed.
Tanis eyes seemed to have completely changed colors, from a bright green to red, and his skin a rich golden bronze, paled to a white. Tanis turned to look at Teeleh,
“You fool you actually did it! And now we are free!” Teeleh snarled. As he said these words, his costume of beauty slipped off like molt.  His skin turned black and hung from his bones, his skin smelled of rotten meat, and his eyes turned red. Teeleh pushed Tanis to the side, and immediately the shatiki broke loose from the Black Forest. Teeleh grabbed a small shatiki and threw him forward,
“Make sure,” Teeleh said.
The small black bat walked to the edge of the bridge, and slowly pulled his leg past the line. Nothing happened he did not die. Then the small shatiki flew into the village and attacked a nearby villager.
“War, we are Free!” Teeleh screamed, and all of the shatiki flew into the Colored Forest.
Thomas scrambled up on his feet, and looked to his left and right, and noticed the two Roush had left his side.
“Tanis! Why?” Thomas sobbed, as he ran into the colored forest.
Thomas looked up at the sky, and it was black filled with the bodies of the shatiki, everywhere around him villagers were being attacked. The people were screaming and crying, and Thomas could not help them.
“Thomas!” Rachelle screamed
“Rachelle!” Thomas ran towards her.
“Thomas! Elyon’s water…It is gone, the lakes are dry and we can no longer bath in them. What has happened?” Rachelle said clinging to Thomas with fear.
“Tanis...He...” Thomas did not need to say anymore.
“No! He couldn’t have. Why! Oh dear Elyon!” Rachelle fell to the ground and wept hard.
The black bats were drawing nearer; they needed to get out of the Colored Forest.
“Rachelle we need to get Johan, where is he” Thomas asked.
“I told him to wait in the thrall for me while I went to go and get you.” Rachelle said.
“We need to go there now,” Thomas pulled Rachelle up and they both ran to the thrall.
The once beautiful Colored Forest was now dark, and everything was destroyed. Elyon’s water was gone, Elyon had told them to not drink of the shatiki water. He said he would give them everything, and Tanis had drunk the water. Their innocence was now gone, and there could be no hope, at least that was what Thomas believed.
