Walking

I stopped walking and I heard foot steps behind me abruptly stop, I realize I am being followed. Thoughts fly through my head as to what I should do should I run, should I confront them. NO I will keep walking at a faster pace. My heels are pounding on the cement ground as I walk faster, I listen for their footsteps and they seem to be increasing along with mine. My heart is pounding in my ears, and fear is getting the hold of me. I make a sharp turn, and start to run slowly, as I keep running I realize I am at a dead end. My feet stop moving, and my heart is racing, I close my eyes trying to concentrate on the feet that approaching behind me.
The sound of their feet are hard for me to hear over the beating of my heart, like a wild drummer beating on a drum. Their footsteps are the only things I can hear in this lone alley, walking at a steady pace. I close my eyes, and pray to God,  I dare not turn around and face my stalker. The footsteps stop right behind me, their presence was so close to me my body shook. I willed a scream to come from my mouth, but no noise would escape them. My mouth was sealed shut, and the only noise coming from me was the pounding of my heart.
The feet slowly shuffled even closer, I heard the sound of metal clanging together, almost like keys. However I fear the worst, I imagine all types of weapons that might make that noise. A firm hand grips my shoulder and turns me around, tears fill my eyes, a scream is stuck in my throat. My eyes are squeezed shut, and my body is shaking. They touch my arm, and lift it up, they open my hand and place something cold in it, metal. I cringe at the coldness of the metal, the jagged edges my hand now surrounded. A deep voice comes from the being, I dare open my eyes, I take a peak and listen.
"Ma'am you dropped your keys, I was trying to give them back to you, but you kept running. Are you okay?"
I kept staring as if a cruel joke was being played on me, but their smile was sincere, I nodded my head in thanks. Then I watched until the person had left the alley, far from sight. I leaned against the brick wall and sunk to the ground. I sat with my back leaning against the brick wall, and let out a sigh. No one had been following me I was safe, I small chuckle escaped my lips, and a tear of relief slid down my cheek, I was safe after all. I held my keys in my hand, I clutched it so tightly I could feel the metal tearing into my skin. I walked out the alley, when I heard a noise. I look left then right, there was nothing there, I shook the paranoia away and kept walking.
Before I could reach the end of the alley I heard a thud hit the ground behind me, I dare not look back, it was just my fear playing tricks on my mind. I walked forward only one step, when a hand gripped my mouth and placed a bag over my head. Then everything went completely black.

  1. Um, this is interesting, but you MUST make it clear that this is a story that you are writing. Maybe sign it under a different name. But I was confused because I know that you were not kidnapped, so why were you saying that you were?

    Anyway: it was interesting!
