The Reason

Maybe if we just took a step back we might relax,

And see the reason and purpose behind everything.

 There was a reason why you said hi to that friend,

Or smiled at that neighbor.

 And it wasn’t because you knew that there life was tough,

And it wasn’t because you knew that they needed that encouraging love.

Or that they needed just a small hug

So they could know that they’re loved.

 But you smiled at them because God smiled at you,

And you loved them because God first loved you.

 But how? How could going through the pain really have a reason?

Why did I have to shed those tears for the ones I loved, what’s the reason?

 Well here is the reason.

You bump into this girl,

She has tears in her eyes,

And then you start to wonder why.

When you realize the reason that she cries.

 Its not a broken toe, or a hurting knee,

But a broken heart, and now all she needs,

Is the same love that you received

 And now you realize,

You didn’t just happen to bump into the person who was living through what you overcame.

And you didn’t just go through the pain for no reason

 now listen to what I have to say..

 God  picked you up during those hard times,

So that you could see that,

 You went through the pain and overcame,

And you went through the tears so that you could say,

That Jesus is the one who cured my pain,

Jesus was the one who took it all away.

 And that is why I can say,

That though you feel the pain,

With each passing day,

There is a Jesus that saves.

And he took all your pain away.

And when you joy overflows,

Now you can see the reason behind it.

 And now when you see the bigger picture to your pain.

You will no longer ask, why it had to go that way,

Because we will see Jesus was the way,

That took away the pain,

And he finally put a reason, to our everyday.
