The sting

.
He was glad to have light even if it caused him pain to get to it, it is better to go through much pain to get to the light, than to wallow in darkness, and be lost- Jason Cleer

You are in compete darkness, the darkness surround you and you are all alone. The pain is all around you, and there is no escaping it. At least that it was it seems, but then you find your way out. You open the door when the light floods in, it burns your eyes, but now you can see again. You don’t care to much about the pain of the new light, you are just glad you got out of the darkness.
This made me think of Christians who go through trails and pain, after being a Christian. However before, they were in complete darkness the pain was whole, but when they came to the light the pain was only small and brief with a greater outcome in the end. Yet sometimes when they first see the light and there is that pain, they get mad at God, some even turn from faith, because they couldn’t take the pain. They expected to come out of the darkness and turn on the light and feel no sting. But they seem to forget where they came from, the complete darkness with no light, and only pain and loneliness.  You have to feel that sting of the light turning on, because we are going to feel it. When you are a light to the world that is dark, you are going to have to feel that sting sometimes. The rejection and hate of those who don’t believe you. However that pain is only brief and the outcome is so much better, than to have stayed in the dark.
Christians can’t be afraid of that sting, we have to tell people, and people are going to reject us. Why are so many of us afraid to say anything, are we afraid of the pain, the loneliness. But isn’t that were we just came from, the darkness. We are never alone like we once were, because now Jesus is with us. So we shouldn’t be afraid of that sting, like we were afraid of the darkness when we were in it. The difference with the pain you feel when you turn on the light, is that you have Jesus there to heal the pain, but in the darkness no one was there.
