What They Need

Walking through the loud halls,
Pass the students who live in a different world.

Everyone is so misguided and so deceived,
On what they think they truly need.

The one who is hurting knows not of God,
And the one who is laughing knows not of God.

So this is what they tell them.

Get a job, have a kid
You need a car, and a lovely miss,
And with these things surely you’ll live.

Yet why is there a hole in all of their heart?
Why is the pain so raw, and so real?

They say well I’ve got my car, and I’ve got my ms,
But why does this hole in my heart feel so big?

They are missing the most essential piece,
This is the reason why people want more
This is the reason why they cannot believe,
That this all this life can bring.

Who cares about the money, cars, family, and houses?
When they cannot even acknowledge the one who provided it.

They realize that they need something else that this world cannot bring,
They realize they need a Jesus, who came to set them free,
From the bondage of this world, that would not let them be.

Now the hole is filled and the gap is fixed,
Now there is meaning in each step, and a reason to live.

No more fake love, fake joy, and fake dreams,
Because now they’ve found the one whom they truly need.

They have found there one true desire and,
He is something much much more higher,
Then they could ever dream,
And his name is Jesus the messiah,
So let his praises ring!
